Piranesi 2010 - New Features
What's New in Piranesi 2010 Pro?
Piranesi 2010 Pro introduces layers. You can now create compositions easily and switch between different versions of an image by moving layers and switching them on and off.
On Windows, we provide 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The new 64-bit version is for 64-bit Windows operating systems and lets you make full use of your computer's memory so you can work with larger scenes. Piranesi 2010 is also available as a Universal application for Mac OS X.
3D stereo images can make your presentation pop out of the screen, adding a 3D effect that has to be seen to be believed! Piranesi creates stereo anaglyph images that are viewed with 3D glasses, and can also export the left and right images separately.
The new 3D Clone tool lets you select a texture from your drawing, then paint with it in perspective. You could select some existing brickwork, then paint it on a surface that's a different shape and facing a different direction. Used with Piranesi's unique locks, you can quickly render new parts of the model to match the rest.
The Colour picker now selects colours from anywhere on screen, not just from your drawing, plus a number of improvements to usability and performance:
Additional Features
LOCK HIGHLIGHTING
The automatic highlighting of geometry that matches the locks. What this means is that you immediately see which items can be painted if you actually began painting at the current position. As you move the pointer around the scene, the highlighting is dynamically updated to match the new position. And, because you might not always want to use this feature, you can switch it on and off by pressing the letter Q (you can choose another letter if you prefer).
LINK TO GOOGLE 3D WAREHOUSE
With the increasing popularity of Google 3D Warehouse, Piranesi provides a direct link to the warehouse. This means that you can browse and load models of furniture, cars, animals, and anything else that has been modelled, directly into Piranesi. Informatix have extended the support for Google SketchUp files to include Version 7.
CUTOUT IMAGE CURSORS
A new variant to the Cutout Image cursors has been added in Piranesi. You now see cutout as a true image picture as you move the cursor over the scene. And, because this is the obvious, natural viewing choice, Informatix have made it the default method of working. You can now see exactly where your cutout will be placed, whether in front of, behind or even within existing scenery.
NEW COLOUR PALETTE
The Colour palette in Piranesi can now load palettes that have been created in other applications, such as Adobe Photoshop. This means that you can now easily maintain your clients’ corporate colours or preferred style by loading a specific set from your library of colour palettes. Informatix have also added options for the Reduce Colours Filter to use the new Colour palette features.
FBX FILES AS CUTOUTS
To improve your workflow with Autodesk Revit, Piranesi can read FBX files as cutouts. And if you export your model in FBX format, Vedute 5.1 can convert it to an EPix file ready for painting in Piranesi.
STYLE RECORDING
The Style Recorder in Piranesi now records strokes in addition to its style. This means that you can apply the same strokes to different views of a scene just by replaying the styles.
